Our Mission

Roses for New Beginnings was founded in 2009. The initial mission of this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was to provide awareness of child trafficking in Ghana,West Africa, and raise funds for Touch a Life Foundation (TAL), which has rescued and cared for over 100 children who are survivors of forced labor on Lake Volta. (See: www.touchalifekids.org) Through Touch a Life Care Center, TAL offers these children food, shelter and education in a nurturing environment; the newly constructed Art Center provides art and music and a place for their healing and creative expression.

In 2015, RNB expanded its mission to include supporting women and children in Uganda, East Africa. Past funding has supported women to complete home construction, pay school fees for their children, purchase sewing and knitting machines to produce school uniforms for sale, and rent housing and workshop space.  See the Projects page for the needs we are looking to fund today.

“they were taken so young and kept so long that in some cases, they no longer remembered their last name or the town where they had been born.”

What We've Achieved in Ghana

  • Rescued over 100 children off of Lake Volta over a six year period.

  • Most recently, in November of 2015, twenty-five more children were rescued.

  • Built a Care Center and Art Center that has been critical to the physical and mental wellness of our survivors.

  • Provide vocational programs to our older children.
