Freedom From Child Trafficking in Ghana, West Africa

In Ghana, West Africa, some women are so desperate to survive and keep their children alive.  At times, their only option is to send their children to a place they are told will give their children an education, food and shelter. Unfortunately, what really happens, is that they are misled and their children are sold to masters who enslave them. The children are forced to fish on Lake Volta.  The children, some as young as five years old, are put on a canoe every morning, work all day in the blazing sun, with little to no clothing, and catch fish for the master to sell.  Their harsh living conditions and physical abuse become their way of life.

Roses for New Beginnings was founded in 2009. After being introduced to Pam Cope, founder of Touch A Life, we knew that it was our time to pay forward and open opportunities for those who have none. Our eyes have been opened to the existence of child trafficking and the horrific daily living these victims face.  We need to do what we can to rescue these children away from the abuse and into a life that allows them to be happy, free children.

Child trafficking is furiously cruel and yet, is a reality for so many children. We need to spread the awareness and stop the abuse.  Roses for New Beginnings is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support Touch A Life with the rescue and care for victims of child trafficking in Ghana.  The Care Center provides food, clothing, shelter, education, art therapy and medical services to the children rescued from child trafficking on Lake Volta. Please make a donation of any size to assist in the support of these survivors of child trafficking.

New Paths in Uganda

In 2015, Roses for New Beginnings reached across the African continent to assist women and children in Uganda who were struggling in their own ways. Whether because of domestic abuse, lack of education, insufficient pay, or inadequate social support, these women and their children were ready to set out on a new path in life, and just needed some financial assistance to begin that journey.
